KHPC Policy on competing at Hunter Trials, Eventing & Cross Country 2025:
IMPORTANT: If your child is eventing or hunter trialling for the first time this year OR considering moving up the levels, they will need to be certified as eligible and signed off by a DC in conjunction with appropriately qualified instructors.
The Irish Pony Club Eventing classes are as follows:

The IPC rule is that the member must have their D+ test. However it is KHPC policy that riders must be of C test standard of riding and the assessed partnership (rider & horse/pony) must be signed off as such by the DC and XC instructors if they have not yet achieved their C test.

Training & Assessment: We aim to provide XC Training for all levels of riders planning to compete in the various PC events over the coming months. There will be assessment rallies in April for members hoping to ride at U12 & Junior level for the first time in 2024 and for riders wanting to compete at a higher level for the first time.
A subsequent assessment opportunity will take place during camp. This gives children who don’t meet the required level at Easter time to practise and improve and be reassessed (or assessed for the 1st time if appropriate) at camp.
There are numerous events scheduled for later in the Summer (after Camp) where children will have opportunities to compete at the next level if that is their hope for this year.
If your child is keen to event, it is important to familiarise yourself with the following rulebook; https://www.irishponyclub.ie/images/pdf/rulebooks/eventing_rulebook_0622.pdf
