VOLUNTEERING
The Kildare Hunt Pony Club is a voluntary organisation with approximately 200 members. During the course of the year we organise numerous training rallies and competitive events. We are very lucky to be allowed to use the facilities at Punchestown. We have to prepare and maintain the grounds we use and the equipment. This involves a huge amount of manpower. It is a condition of membership that you pitch in and get involved in this work. “Volunteering” is compulsory 🙂
ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
The Kildare Hunt Pony Club caters for a number of activities which you can find here KHPC activities. Each activity is overseen by dedicated Committee Members who organise training rallies and events for that discipline with a view to catering for all levels of riding ability.
TRAINING RALLIES
Rallies are training sessions, attended by approximately 6-8 children, held in local training centres or at Punchestown racecourse. These are scheduled by each discipline head and are organised according to the child’s ability. Upcoming rallies are listed on our schedule so that you can plan ahead and must be pre-booked online found under the “Online Entries” tab on the KHPC website. KHPC online entries
PUNCHESTOWN – Generally the SJ, Dressage and General rallies are held at the all weather arenas. The arenas can be found to the right at the top of the avenue. We park on the right hand side of the arenas near the “H block” (a green stable barn in the shape of a H!)
X country rallies and ride outs usually start at the entrance to the “Moat Field” where the XC course starts. In the Summer months we use a roped off area known as the “Spinny”. Both of these areas are to the left of the main avenue. Please ask the event organiser if you are not sure where a rally is being held!
ANNUAL PARENTS MEETING & End of Year Parents Meeting
In November we host our Annual Parents Meeting. The year will be reviewed and accounts presented. The committee is ratified at this meeting.
